Today was intake for all 78 pups brought back yesterday. Intake is a time when every dog is given a name, has photos taken that you see online, receives preventative care for parasites, and is tested for heart worm and tick fever. It’s also a time when the dogs experience being in loving arms and are comforted while so many things go on around them. It’s a good time to double check the temperament and observe for any major medical issues. A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers who took 4 hours out of their day to do this not-so-easy job. Volunteers usually go home with dirty clothes, sore arms, and full hearts. This is the day each dog begins his/her journey with NMDR. Such a special day!
