We end this day with an update from Princess Ava Bisou’s family:

“Six years ago, I was getting ready to board a plane in Colorado, headed home to Michigan with my newly adopted puppy mill survivor, Princess Ava Bisou (previously Sunshine at National Mill Dog Rescue). Little did I know that she would overcome so much and become a national spokes-dog, educator, phenomenal advocate against puppy mills, seasoned traveler, model, calendar cover girl, ESA dog and therapy dog. She has attended several City Council meetings to fight against a retail pet store, been part of testimony at our state capitol fighting against misleading legislative bills supported by the pet store and puppy mill industry, been on television, attended tons of puppy mill educational events, brought love and comfort to hospital patients and veterans home heroes, and has even had two of her own puppy mill educational billboards on a major Michigan highway. Princess Ava Bisou has a very active and successful Facebook page (Princess Ava Bisou), along with Instagram and Twitter accounts. She continually motivates others to be kind and help those less fortunate, with her online campaigns. Although she has overcome so much, there are still residual effects from her time in the puppy mill. It is been a great six years, and I cannot wait to see what other obstacles she overcomes and what the next six years have in store for my courageous little girl. She got her wish of becoming a Princess! I continue to learn from her on a daily basis, and I could not love her more! She is truly an inspiration and ‘the left side of my heart.’”
